Galloway renamed minority chair of House Commerce Committee

The committee reviews legislation involving the banking industry, economic development agencies and more

State Rep. John Galloway, D-Bucks, was renamed minority chair of the House Commerce Committee.

The House Commerce Committee reviews legislation involving the banking industry and financial services industries, economic development agencies and programs, and housing agencies and programs, as well as provides legislative oversight for regulations proposed for those areas of the economy.

“I’m honored to have been renamed minority chair of the House Commerce Committee,” Galloway said. “The Commerce Committee’s far-reaching influence affects nearly every aspect of life in Bucks County. As minority chair, I ensure that the bills passed out of our committee improve Bucks County’s economy, financial security and quality of life.”

Galloway was first named minority chair of the committee in January 2019. Galloway, who will be sworn in on Jan. 5 to his eighth term representing the 140th District, previously served as Democratic chairman of the House Labor and Industry Committee.
